There are many ways to view and think about history, but sometimes just seeing is best. And for the past 100 years or so, a most accidental form of historical record has been built: postcards intended for tourists.

DeLand Postcards gives you the opportunity to see things the way they were through the eyes of these old postcards -- and then compare them to how things are today, with the old postcards side by side with contemporary photos taken from the same vantage point.

Sometimes, it's amazing how little things have changed. Sometimes, nothing is the same (and, indeed, a site may have already changed several times over the past 100 years!)

This is a work in progress (as I add more and more postcards photographs), so check in from time to time!

Here's what's available now:

A compirson of old postcards of downtown with modern photographcs taken from the same vantage point.
Postcard Collection Postcards I've scanned but not yet paired up with contemporary photograhs.
